You stack one tier on top of another. They nest together leaving a 1 1/2″ air gap between layers for great aeration. The real ease of this design is when you need to turn the compost you simply lift off the top tier and set it on the ground next to the stack and shovel over some compost over into it. As the pile in the original bin gets lower you move over another tier and shovel more material over. Keep repeating until the whole original stack is transferred over all fluffed and mixed right next to where you started. Simple!! Wood is untreated, cedar is naturally rot and pest resistant.
